They "attempted" delivery again today and noted that receiving address was closed when attempted delivery. I'm sorry, I gave them my work address and we are not closed on Friday morning. What do I need to do to get them to deliver it, sacrifice a goat? I live in the biggest city of Switzerland. There are street signs and numbers and everything. DHL is supposed to do this for a living. How hard can it be????

ETA: They apparently tried again an hour later, so I should be receiving it this afternoon. Hopeful yay!

Stupid DHL

I ordered some shoes from Shoebuy two weeks ago. Turns out they arrived in Switzerland 12 days ago. Shoebuy contacted me to verify my address. So apparently DHL attempted delivery and didn't leave me a slip. Asses! I want my shoes. I will call them tomorrow and try to sort it out.

Also, no massage today, because my masseuse is still in Poland. Hopefully I can go on Friday.

On the plus side, I took next week off. I'm so looking forward to it. My motivation is non-existant at the moment. Yesterday I was so tired I went to bed early. I slept 7 1/2 hours on a week night, which must be a new record.

I had a nice time in San Diego. We shopped and shopped and then shopped some more. I bought: 2 Handbags, 3 pair of pants, about 8 T-Shirts, 2 Tank Tops, 5 Bras, 7 pairs of underwear, and lots of stuff from Sephora and Bath and Bodyworks. But we mostly shopped because the weather our first week was colder than normal. Just our luck, eh?

The second week the weather returned to more normal temperatures. But because we had postphoned most of our sightseeing, we didn't really have time to hit the beach. We spent a day at our hotel pool instead. But we took a City Tour, visited the Zoo and Seaworld, and even went down to Tijuana for an afternoon.

Our hotel turned out to be the right choice. It was very close to a hospital, but the sirens didn't bother us at all. Plus because of our lengthy stay, we got not just a bedroom, but more of a suite. We had a bedroom, living room and a kitchen and two tvs. We made use of the kitchen a couple of times, when we were too tired to go out and eat in a restaurant or that time it rained for the whole day. Once we made a pizza in the oven and the smoke alarm went off, when we took it out. Thankfully it stopped, when we opened the sliding door to our balcony.

The return trip was hellish and I don't think I will ever travel with American Airlines again. But I'm glad to be home and able to sleep in my own bed again.

Number 1: The Zurich Lions won today and made it into the Swiss Playoff final where they will play against Geneva-Servette. They won the sixth game 5:1 against their arch-nemesis Davos. What a difference a year makes... Davos won Swiss Champion last year.

Number 2: Yesterday I got the boots that I ordered about 3 weeks ago. My first and only pair of boots and they actually fit. Okay they don't fit perfectly, because compared to my calves, my ankles are normal sized, so there's a bit of a bulge. They still look okay on me. I'm gonna wear them tomorrow to work. I might also play enabler to one of my coworkers, because we talked today and she's looking for boots and has trouble finding boots she likes and that fit. I bought these from Duo Boots.

I had quite a good day until I realised that I wrote down the time for my massage wrong. I was one hour late, but fortunately we could reschedule it for tomorrow. I felt really bad for standing her up, I'm usually very reliable and I don't like to waste other people's time. So instead of today at six, I have it tomorrow at seven.

I'm convinced the public transport system has it out for me. I missed my bus by 30 seconds, of course the next one never came and waiting is always so much fun when it's raining and windy. Yesterday the same thing happened and made me miss the first 15 minutes of my workout *pouts*. So much for being punctual and reliable.

On the positive side, I got my Snarkfest Secret Santa Gift today. I haven't opened the actual presents yet, I only opened the envelope to see who sent it to me. It prompted me to get my ass into gear and sent mine off. I do hope my Secret Santa likes her gifts. I suspect she's at least gonna like the chocolate part of it.

I bought myself a new messenger bag. It's really pretty, green and white and made from recycled tarp, which makes it smell a bit strange. The model I bought is called Dexter.

I'm free, free I tell you. My farewell party at work on Tuesday was until about 8 and the only ones left were Roberto, Shirley and I. Roberto helped me carry the boat loads of crap home. I knew him living close by would come in handy one day. The whole thing hasn't quite sunk in yet. I wonder how my job reference from there is gonna look, 'cause my old boss left Mid-August. My new boss has been my boss for the last 3 months there and I don't think I've ever been more unmotivated at a job.

Freedom would taste sweeter if there wasn't work done in the apartment directly over mine. And with work I mean, something that makes my apartment smell of chemical fumes and makes it sound like an airplane is landing in my bedroom. I sent an angry e-mail to my landlord today, asking him when the hell they are gonna be finished, because they have been doing stuff for at least two weeks. Especially because these fuckers aren't limiting their noisy work to business hours. After dealing with the constant noise the whole day I really don't need them to continue their work in the early evening hours.

I spent about 70 bucks on make-up today. So much for my resolution to watch what I'm buying. But the make-up I bought has been recommended to me by Shirley and I like the foundation, I will try the apple facial scrub later and the eyeshadow trio from L'Oreal for green eyes really does work for me.

Work continues to suck. But I sent my first application e-mail yesterday and got an answer today that I should send her my application file. Not that this means anything, but at least I didn't get outright rejected. It really helps with my frustration about work, to at least do something.

I love my new cellphone. I sent some music files to my cell yesterday and demonstrated my new ringtone to Shirley today. She promptly wanted it too and we managed to transfer it via Bluetooth. I only wish that it had more internal space. I mean 4.2 MB is nothing. What use is being able to record video, when you don't have any space to save it?

I finally got the makeup I ordered. The colours I ordered are fine. I ordered Stila color push-ups in rose flash, Smashbox Eyeshadow in Smashing Chic and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude. Smashing Chic is a bit dark to wear it alone, but should be okay in combination with another colour.

Because of my sucky situation at work (details see "I Hate My Job" Thread at Snarkfest), I indulged in a little retail therapy. I bought myself a new cell phone. It's this one.

It's not really a new phone, the modell itself is old. But it has all I need in a phone. I had my old phone for 6 1/2 years and the fact that it has a camera and you can send MMS messages is more than enough for me.

I also imported "Grosse Pointe - The whole series" from the US and even though it's a Region 1 DVD, it's actually playable in Region 2, 3 and 4. I love the show. I had forgotten how awesome it was and just how much I wanted Marcy and Dave to end up together. I'm still pissed the show ended on a cliff hanger.
