Supertense
Aug. 28th, 2007 09:50 pmI'm supertense this week and it's turning me a little loopy. I'm supposed to get some sort of answer from the 3 job interviews that I went to in the past 3 weeks. I'm guessing I'll be either very elated or completly deflated by Friday evening. I just want to know and obviously get a new job. I'm trying to steel myself for the possibility of rejection, but there's this tiny bit of me that still has hope. At least, I have Shirley around to be goofy with. I can't imagine how boring my life would be without her. I mean, who would I sing horribly off-key duets with? She really brightens up my day.
Yesterday, while I was putting up my laundry, my downstairs neighbour came down to check on hers. I thanked her for the flowers. Apparently she felt like saying thank-you for being tolerant neighbours because of the looks she gets in public whenever her cute baby is crying. We really aren't a child-friendly society, I think. Eve, her kid, is adorable and apparently fascinated by washing machines. She spent ten minutes yesterday putting a grey t-shirt in the washing machine, trying to close the door and pushing a button. I think it's remarkable how much she knows about the workings of the washing machine for a 16 month old. She almost didn't let my roommate put her dirty laundry in. When roomie started her load, Eve sat in front of the machine for a couple of minutes until she decided she was bored and left.
