I'm impressed with my grandma
Aug. 2nd, 2006 10:33 pmLast week I visited my grandma. I finally got to show her my pictures of my vacation in Sicily. She didn't see them before, because she had a stroke during my vacation. She's doing fine now, but she had us all worried. As it turns out, when it happened, she called the paramedics herself. They came and examined her, but found nothing. They only took her to the hospital because my grandmother insisted. I'm proud of her for that. Normally she's the sweetest, nicest person and a bit of a pushover, but the one time were it was important, she stood up for herself. Suffice to say, that I'm really glad that she did. In the hospital, they immediately admitted her. Apparently women with strokes are often not believed by medical personnel, because they are not as common.
My grandma also bought herself a new cellphone. She seems to know much better how to use it, even though it has way more functions than her old one. I always thought that Nokia cellphones are easier to use than others. She can play videos and take pictures. She showed me a video of my two cute cousins wishing her a good day. I seriously covet the cellphone. It's very pretty and I think I'll buy myself the same modell if mine dies in the near future.
